Tesla’s Non-Tesla Supercharger Pilot expands to France and Norway | Superchargers in France and Norway

The Tesla Pilot Supercharger program was announced in July 2021, when CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the carmaker would open its charging points to other electric vehicle manufacturers.

Launched within the Netherlands final November 2021, Tesla has expanded their Non-Tesla Supercharger Pilot program that Non-Tesla vehicles can now charge at select Superchargers in new sites and countries i.e France and Norway via the Tesla app.

The Non-Tesla Supercharger pilot is currently limited to EV drivers who live in the following countries:

Tesla’s charger network covers more than 30,000 locations worldwide.

According to Tesla, depending on the availability of vehicles more sites will be opened. “We’re starting with a select number of sites so we can review the experience, track congestion, and evaluate feedback before expanding. Future sites will only be opened to non-Tesla vehicles if spare capacity is available, the company said on its website.

According to Tesla, In France, there are 15 Supercharger stations, In Norway other 20 stations and 10 stations within the Netherlands are now open to house owners of different EVs.

In addition, EV house owners in Germany and Belgium can even plugin on the pilot Supercharger stations when visiting one of many above international locations.

The same logic and fee structure apply to both Tesla and Non-Tesla EVs to help ensure stalls are open for everyone to charge. Certain Supercharger site layouts may not be suitable for some cars. Supercharger pilot is only accessible for CCS-enabled vehicles. If a Supercharger post has two cables, Non-Tesla cars can only charge with the CCS connector.

The Tesla Supercharging network is the largest DC fast-charging network in Europe and, once fully opened, would be a major boost for long-distance travel in non-Tesla EVs.
