Introduction

From 27 January 2022 onwards, AWS’s official Twitter Account handle announced its new Product and Services which is the next generation of memory-optimized instances are launched by AWS i.e. Amazon EC2 X2i instances.

Amazon EC2 X2iezn instances are powered by the 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPU processors with an all-core turbo frequency of up to 4.5 GHz, the fastest in the cloud for Memory Intensive Workloads.

Why did New Amazon EC2 X2i Instance name as Amazon EC2 X2iezn?

This is new series  of  EC2 X2i instances in which “iezn” refers as 
  • “i” suffix in the instance type to specify that the instances are using an Intel Processor,
  • “e” in the memory-optimized instance family to indicate extended memory,
  • “z” which indicates high-frequency processors, and
  • “n” to support higher network bandwidth up to 100 Gbps.

Availability Region

Amazon EC2 X2iezn instances are now available in the Following Places :

  1. US East (North Virginia),
  2. US West (Oregon),
  3. Asia Pacific (Tokoyo),
  4. and Europe (Ireland) Regions.

Available Types

We can use Amazon EC2 X2iezn instances in different Types which are listed below:

  1. On-Demand Instances,
  2. Reserved Instances,
  3. Saving Plan and Spot Instances,
  4. Dedicated Instances,
  5. Dedicated Hosts.
